A Friday Round Up from Mr Schumm
Good afternoon,
What a busy week! All systems are go and Year 6 are terrifically excited about their trip away next week sampling the delights of abseiling, zip wiring, archery, quad biking and the list goes on. I am travelling down with them so will need to get myself in peak fitness for the activities – I fear I may have left it too late!

FOSS AGM
Thank you to all those parents who attended our FOSS AGM meeting – an amazing turn out! FOSS had a spectacular year even in the midst of the pandemic and raised a stupendous £113,000 for our school. Thank you to all our new volunteers and to our former committee members who have done a sterling job! Thank you to Sylvia who is continuing as Chair and a huge thank you in advance for your contributions to FOSS in the year ahead whether that is through attendance at events, providing donations or the invaluable setting up, clearing up and sweeping duties!
Phonics Evening
Last night Mrs Ghoul and Miss Billington led our phonics meeting and explained how we will be teaching the new children in Reception to read and write. We use a scheme called Read, Write Inc., which is superb! They will soon be pronouncing pure sounds and blending delightfully with a spattering of digraphs!
Black Voices Week
Black Voices Week later this term will celebrate the achievements of scientists, engineers and inventors from ethnic minorities both past and present. If you know anyone who may is able to contribute to talks, workshops, assemblies during this week, then please get in touch with Mrs Wordsworthl.wordsworth@ststephensce.lbhf.sch.uk

At the end of the last school year, we asked parents to complete a survey on our Religious Education and the results are printed above. One of our aims this academic year is for the children to learn more about other world faiths. With this in mind we would like to welcome parents/ carers of other world faiths within our school community to visit the school and share their religion with children across the school. This could be in a class visit or if you are feeling really brave, a school assembly. Please contact Mr Perry, our RE lead, if you would like to join us a.perry@ststephensce.lbhf.sch.uk
Have a lovely weekend and thank you for all your support.
