A Friday night round up from Mr Schumm
Dear Parents/ Carers,
As the festive cheer slowly envelops us all and with two weeks of Nativities, Fairs and Carols nearly upon us, I thought it wise to have a quick reminder of key dates.
In light of the current Covid situation could I please ask parents to wear a mask at our carol concerts, church services and Nativities. I also think it is probably wise to postpone our Great St Stephen’s Drinks Party till next term – we never cancel, we merely postpone at St Stephen’s so a Spring Drink’s Party will be super!
Dates for the Diary
Reception Nativity – Tuesday, 7th December at 2pm in St Stephen’s Church
Year 1 and 2 Nativity – Thursday, 9th December in the main hall at 9.30am and 2pm
Own Clothes Day – Thursday, 9th December ( please donate a bottle of liquid refreshment/ jar of sweets)
Christmas Lunch – Thursday, 9th December
Nursery Christmas Lunch – Friday, 10th December
House Captain Bingo and Quiz night– Wednesday, 15th December at 6pm via Zoom
Carols by Candlelight – Thursday, 16th December at 6.00pm in St Stephen’s Church
Whole School Christmas Service – Friday, 17th December at 9am in St Stephen’s Church
Parent helpers
We would love to put together a list of parent helpers/ volunteers who would be happy to come into school and listen to children read, run an activity session, read a story to the class or talk to the children about their life experiences, religion or help with DIY around the school! Parents helping in school is really wonderful for our school community so please pop me an email and I can start putting a list together head@ststephensce.lbhf.sch.uk. Miss Mahon held two really informative and useful meetings on parents coming into school to listen to children read or running an activity in the classroom. The House Captains’ Christmas Quiz is back!
A quiz for the whole family held on Wednesday, 15th December at 6pm on Zoom.
This is no ordinary quiz. This is a ‘St Stephen’s Christmas Spectacular’ with all your favourite quiz rounds hosted by us, the House Captains. This year there’s no boring general knowledge rounds but Brilliant Bingo Bash!’ (Don’t worry this is just normal Bingo with an extravagant name and some special Bingo Calls). If you thought that was the end of it, then you clearly do not know St Stephen’s. Alongside our quiz there will be A mini-Astonishing Auction with some MEGA lots (an early Christmas gift anyone…)!
It’s £5 per head to enter and this gets you:
– a goodie bag full of festive treats!
– a Bingo card; and
– access to our quiz

Having bought your ticket to our spectacular event, an email containing links to Zoom, your bingo card and the QUIZ WhatsApp group will be sent (nearer the date).
We hope that you can attend our event!
The money raised will go towards the Year 6 trip and our chosen charities.
