Red Card to Racism 15th October 2020
For the third consecutive year, we will be holding our ‘Red Card to Racism’ day supporting the anti racism charity of the same name. This is an opportunity to continue the incredibly important conversation about racism and encourage anti-racist behaviour in our school community and society. Please click on the link below to find out more about the charity
As a symbol of solidarity, we would ask that all children to come in wearing something red next Thursday. Usually, we do a collection for the charity however in the current climate we cannot collect coins and notes but if you are able to donate the charity has advised us that they are accepting donations through text. Please text ‘RED’ to70470 to give £1,’RED5′ to give £5, ‘RED10’ to give £10 or ‘RED20’ to give £20 if you are able to.
On the 15th, children will learn about the issues surrounding racism with activities appropriate for each year group. This should prove to be an important and informative day which will enrich the learning the pupils are currently doing in ‘Relationships and Health Education’ and pave the way for the ‘Valuing Difference’ unit they will undertake next term in this subject.
