DT Day – Pop ups!
DT Day this December was all based around pop ups! The children spent the day learning about levers and linkages and then applied this understanding to creating their own pop up card or animal. Since it is such a busy time of the year, some of the children are yet to have their DT Day. However, so far so good…
In Year 3 and 4, the children were tasked with creating a card with a running reindeer on the front. The children thought about the linkages which they had learnt about and decided on the one which they thought would work best to meet the challenge!
In Year 5, the challenge was to create an animal with moving parts. The children amazed us all with their innovative ideas and creativity finishing the day with some fantastic creations.
In Year 6, the children were tasked with learning about 5 different linkages and how they worked before deciding on the right one to create an animal of their choice. Again the children wowed Miss Marchant and Mr Gane with their imagination and clever use of linkages to make some amazing moving animals.
We look forward to seeing what’s in store for the rest of the year as DT Day continues next week!
