iUn día maravilloso para todos! Hispanic day 2021 kicked off with the usual style with Mr Schumm greeting the children in a true Hispanic fashion! We then enjoyed a wonderful assembly by Ilusion Flamenca. The children learned about the origins of Flanenco dancing. Carlos explained how flamenco is in fact a truly multicultural dance including but not limited to Arabic, Jewish, Indian and of course, Spanish influences. The children then sang La Bamba by Los Lobos before setting off to their various activities inspired by the Hispanic world. This year the learning focus was Hispanic stories from around the world and we are very grateful to all of our Spanish speaking St Stephens community who volunteered to read in class. It was great to hear our school language spoken by so many. Below are some of the day’s highlights and a little video of the day’s activities. iOle!
