School Houses

Our school is split into four houses named after the missionaries Eric Liddell, Gladys Aylward, John Wesley and Alexander Crummel. The children can win house points for good work and behaviour and the winning house each term celebrates with a special treat! Throughout the year, there are a number of inter-house sports competitions culminating in our annual sports day where the house with the greatest number of points wins a trophy.  Every year, four house captains in Year 6 are elected by the younger children in each house and take ownership of the direction and focus for that year, including the choice of charity. House points are collected every week and a running total can be found on the Stars of the Week and House Points page on this website.

A Word from our House Captains

Hello,

We are your 2024/25 House Captains. We were voted in by the pupils in our houses and our job is to raise money for our amazing school, raise awareness and money for our chosen charities and, very importantly, eat cake whenever we have a House Captain meeting in Mr Schumm’s office!!
Our chosen charities this year are Battersea Dogs and Cats and Therapy Dogs Nationwide. St Stephen’s have been raising money for various charities over the years but we decided that this year we would dedicate our time and efforts to the precious animals of this world.

Wilf: “Hi my name is Wilf and I am super duper excited to be a Crummel House Captain.”

Lotte: “Hi I’m Lotte and obviously I am super excited for all the fun things us House Captains will be doing this year like going to Battersea Cats and Dogs Home!”

Mercy: “Hi everyone, I’m Mercy and I’m one of the four amazing Crummel House Captains. We are raising valuable money for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home as animals matter just as much as humans.”

Ella H: I am thrilled to get the privilege of being a House Captain and I will do all I can for Wesley.”

Sam: “Hello, my name is Sam and I am honoured to have been elected for this amazing role. I promise to help Wesley and this school raise lots of money.”

Matilda: “I am over the moon that I am House Captain for Wesley and thrilled to raise money for our school.”

Ella: “Hi I’m Ella P.F and I am honoured to be voted in for Wesley House Captain and am looking forward to raising money for our excellent school and give animals at Battersea an amazing life.”

Annie: “I am so proud to be Aylward’s House Captain and I promise to lead our house to success.”

Jack: “I am very proud to be an Aylward House Captain and I can’t wait to raise money for this amazing school and all the little dogs and cats at Battersea.”

Millie-Jo: “I am honoured to be an Ayward House Captain and can’t wait to do all the fun activities, like the BBC Park Run, to raise money.”

Amber: “I can’t wait to be part of the fundraising plans we have and making Aylward proud!”

Kitty: “Hi, I’m Kitty and I am going to do a great job looking after Liddel’s House!”

Ben: “I am very happy that I got chosen to be a House Captain for Liddel and I will help the school and Liddel to do well this year.

Aniela: “I am honoured to have been chosen as House Captain for Liddel and I am so excited for the fundraising.

Evelyn: I am honoured to be your House Captain and I will do anything to help our fantastic school. I promise to lead Liddel to success.”
